Hu Elected as ASME Fellow

Professor S. Jack Hu ( ) has been elected to the grade of ASME Fellow.

jackhu,Professor S. Jack HuDr. Hu has made important contributions to Mechanical Engineering, especially in the field of manufacturing, through his teaching, research and professional service. He has taught seven different undergraduate and graduate courses and developed one new graduate course at the University of Michigan. He has served as advisor or co-advisor to 19 Ph.D. graduates and 10 M.S. graduates. He also played important leadership roles in engineering education by serving as graduate program chair of Mechanical Engineering and Director of Program in Manufacturing at the University of Michigan.

In addition, Dr. Hu is the author or co-author of over 90 journal and conference papers and the co-author of one textbook. He currently serves as an Associate Editor for ASME J. Manufacturing Science and Engineering and is the co-chair for the Technical Committee on Quality and Reliability of the ASME Manufacturing Engineering Division.
