PECASE awarded to Gillespie

Brent Gillespie Assistant Professor Brent Gillespie has been selected to receive the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) from the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Each year NSF selects nominees for this prestigious award from among the most meritorious new NSF CAREER awardees. The PECASE program recognizes outstanding scientists and engineers who, early in their careers, show exceptional potential for leadership at the frontiers of knowledge. This Presidential Award is the highest honor bestowed by the United States Government on scientists and engineers beginning their independent careers.

Please join us in congratulating Brent on this outstanding accomplishment and thanking him for bringing recognition and prestige to the department through his contributions. With this recognition Brent joins previous PECASE winners from ME, Anne Marie Sastry and Jun Ni.
