ME Faculty Member Receives Ruth and Joel Spira Outstanding Teaching Award
Diann Brei ( https://me-web2.engin.umich.edu/zope/pubdir/bio?uniqname=dibrei ) has been selected by the College, along with another faculty member from EECS, to receive the Ruth and Joel Spira Outstanding Teaching Award.
Diann has been active in developing and teaching a new graduate course in smart materials and our undergraduate design courses in ME. She was recently elected Director of the ME Design Laboratory, is the course leader for the design course ME 350 and taught ME 450. She also developed, with Bill Schultz, the ProCEED community-oriented design projects. The paper describing the ProCEED program, co-authored by Diann and Bill and their students, received a best paper award at the last ASEE meeting.
Please join us in congratulating Diann on this well deserved award!
