Arruda, Grosh & Peng Elected ASME Fellows
ME Professors Ellen Arruda, Karl Grosh and Huei Peng have been elected Fellows of the American Society Of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
Prof. Arruda is internationally recognized for her work on the mechanics of polymeric materials including amorphous and semi-crystalline polymers, elastomers and soft tissue. She has pioneered methods to co-culture scaffold-free tissue constructs to engineer functional tissue interfaces.She has also served ASME and the professional community with distinction, including being an Associate Editor for the Journal of Applied Mechanics and for the Journal of Bio-Engineering.
Prof. Grosh has been recognized for his outstanding research achievements in structural acoustics and cochlear mechanics, his leadership and contributions in education, and his service to the ASME vibration and sound community and to the ASME J. of Vibration and Acoustics.
Prof. Peng has been recognized for his excellent contributions to the field of
automotive controls, his leadership as one of the developers of U-Michigan's Automotive Engineering Program, as well as for his dedicated service to the Dynamic Systems and Control Division of ASME.
