Filipi gave the award-winning talk at the SAE 2009 International Powertrains, Fuels and Lubricants Meeting held this past June in Florence, Italy.

Filipi was also recognized by SAE earlier this year when he received the 2009 Forest R. McFarland Award for his diligence and success as an SAE session organizer.
