Gavini wins Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Research Fellowship

Vikram GaviniAssistant Professor Vikram Gavini has won a prestigious Research Fellowship awarded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

The Humboldt Foundation was created in 1953 by the erstwhile Federal Republic of Germany. Each year it brings researchers from 130 countries, and across all fields of academia to carry out their research in collaboration with host institutes in Germany. Gavini will be hosted jointly by the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences at Leipzig and the University of Stuttgart.

To win the Humboldt Research Fellowship requires an established international reputation for research of the highest caliber. The Humboldt Foundation currently boasts 48 Nobel Laureates among its alumni. Associate Professor Krishna Garikipati was a recent past winner of this award in U-M ME.
