Professor Peng's new book explains modern transmission control systems
While the basic functions of automatic transmissions haven’t changed much over the years, new demands for fuel economy and performance have made designing systems that control modern transmissions difficult. Luckily for the mechanical engineering world, Professor Huei Peng has a new book, Dynamic Analysis and Control System Design of Automatic Transmissions, that explains the best way to design modern transmission control systems in cars, trucks, buses and commercial vehicles.
Co-authored by Shushan Bai and Joel M. Maguire, two senior engineers at GM Powertrain, Peng’s book has a combination of homework questions and theoretical discussions that make it useful for students and professionals alike. This book is now available in print and e-book editions and is published by SAE International.
