U-M ME Faculty hosted the 12th IFAC Workshop on Time Delay Systems

The 12th International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) Workshop on Time Delay Systems took place in Ann Arbor on June 28-30, 2015.

The workshop aimed for the same high quality as the prior ones, with traditional applications like manufacturing and automotive systems, as well as newly arising topics like networked dynamics and biological systems. The workshop featured both invited and contributed sessions. We had 81 papers presented and 103 registered participants. We included an experimental demonstration session where researchers displayed their results in-situ to the participants and a panel discussion that allowed researchers from academia and industry to discuss industrial applications where time delays play an important role. The workshop was preceded by a one-day course where the 32 participants had the opportunity to learn about advanced topics in time delay systems. We were also delighted to hold the banquet at The Henry Ford Museum.

Overall we can say the workshop was of great success based on the feedback from the participants and it demonstrated well the strength of the community working on time delay systems.
