ME PhD student Mohsen Taheri's team has been selected as the winners of the Procter & Gamble Innovations in 3D Printing Challenge. Additional members of his team were Kazem Ardakani, Abhishek Dhyani, Ying Liu, and Derick White. The award was presented at the 40th Annual Macromolecular Science & Engineering Symposium for innovation in research.
The P&G Innovations in 3D Printing Challenge sought diverse teams of scientists and engineers to develop solutions to modern problems in additive manufacturing. Sponsored by P&G and the Materials Innovation Collaboration at the University of Michigan, teams worked with R&D leaders from P&G to develop breakthrough ideas for attaining materials, molecules, and machine approaches to rapidly increasing additive manufacturing production rates.
Taheri is a member of the S.M. Wu Manufacturing Research Center and his advisor is Jun Ni, the Shien-Ming (Sam) Wu Collegiate Professor of Manufacturing Science.
